Volunteer Roles

You must be female-identifying or non-binary and aged 18+ to volunteer.

Instrument instructors
Instrument instructors are responsible for devising and delivering instrumental taster sessions and classes. Each workshop will last an hour and fifteen minute and will be delivered twice - once to our juniors and then our seniors. Every instrumental instructor will have the support of a workshop assistant.

Workshop leaders
Workshop Leaders will be responsible for delivering sessions outside of the studio. These sessions could take the form of anything that helps build the confidence, creative expression or interests of the girls+. These could be zine making, history of women in music, self-defense, screenprinting, yoga/movement, stagecraft or anything else you feel passionate about. Group facilitation skills are important as well as nurturing and maintaining good relationships with the young people and rest of team.

Buddies
Our buddies play a very important role during our rock school.   Buddies are relied upon to check-in with the young people during break and lunch times and are responsible for chaperoning groups safely between workshops and school venues.  Buddies are responsible for general supervision and expected to offer friendship and support to the young people throughout the school.

General Helpers
We need all kinds of support to make the school run over the 9 days.  We are looking for people to help with everything from technical support, driving, setting up gear, helping out on our welcome desk and people with experience in the kitchen to prepare simple lunches and snacks for our young people and other volunteers

Band Mentors
Band mentors are responsible for supporting the girls+ to form their bands, write a song and prepare for the showcase. You can be an instrumental instructor and a band mentor if you are able to commit the time for the week. Band mentors will be ultimately responsible for the bands but will have the support of a workshop assistant.
